About Carob International School
Love, Play, Learn and Lead.
Carob International School was established on 11 September 2017 and officially commenced academic activities on 17 October 2018. It was born out of a deep passion and a strong desire to make a positive difference in the lives of children through quality education.
Our Vision
To cultivate strong moral and spiritual values, creativity, and intelligence in children so that they will be outstanding leaders wherever they go.
Our Mission
To discover the potential of each child through a well-planned curriculum and help them improve on it.
Our Aim
To impart children with the right knowledge and skills for future leadership.
Our Core Values
God, Humanity, Creativity, Integrity, Respect, Truth, Quality.
Our Anthem
Carob School is an evergreen tree,
Planted and watered by the Lord,
Which helps us grow in using our brain,
Applying our hands;
Through love and play we learn and lead.
Our Pedagogy
In pursuit of the school’s vision, we have adopted a blend of the British and Nigerian curricula, while applying the Montessori principles and methods in the teaching and learning process. This approach exposes our pupils to an international standard of education and provides them with a richer, more engaging learning experience.
The curriculum is structured so that children understand the process — how words are formed from sounds and letters, and how arithmetic reasoning leads to answers — rather than relying on rote memorisation or cramming. The Montessori method encourages teachers to work with each child based on their unique personality, learning style, and pace. Our primary focus is to ensure that every child does not merely read to pass examinations, but becomes smarter, more confident, and better equipped than when they first joined Carob International School.
